// Hollow Surface is bringing the sound of Back to Basics and 2020 Vision Recordings to Riverbank!
The electronic music scene has witnessed many a brand come and go, but one name has stood the test of time, for the past 25 years (!!) Back to Basics has dominated the UK club scene and championed some of the finest artists the world has to offer.
This April we’re bringing three artists to Nottingham that truly represent the sound and ethos of ‘Basics.
Ralph Lawson head honcho at 2020 Vision holds the prestigious honour of playing the first ever record at Back to Basics and has been their resident since that very first day! Ralph is a true pioneer in the electronic underground dance music world and has helped to inspire a generation, and that includes us.

Since that first day, one man has been the back bone of ‘Basics and we simply couldn’t bring the event to Hollow Surface without him, Dave Beer. This ‘Yorkshire music mogul’ is responsible for bringing the UK the longest running club night and in doing so has shown that risk, belief and a love for the music goes a long way, he’s a truly inspiring chap…… and he’s playing for us!!!!

As well as Ralph and Dave we’ll also be welcoming another ‘Basics resident and purveyor of all things party, Tristan Da Cunha. Under his guise with production partner Brawther (now this guy is SERIOUS!!!) the Dungeon Meat guys really are doing some seriously special things musically. Stripping everything back and creating a sound that is raw but with that fundamental and solid groove that so many producers see as the Holy Grail of house, this may get special!
