The very unusual workshops are back! 5th time! And the very first time of wine and edible insect pairing in Finland!
In Europe, the idea of eating insects is quite an unusual practice even though the most of the Europeans are proud of having the restaurant chosen to be the best in the world, Noma in Denmark, is serving also insects in the menu. Insects had been in human diet since many hundreds of years and today almost 2 billion people in the world eat insects in their daily diet. So why do we revolt at the idea of eating insects? What is the popularity of Entomophagy in Europe and in the world? How they could be used in the kitchen? Is it really possible to match them with wines? What wines are good with what types of insect dishes and why? Is it really possible to match bugs and wine? Lets figure out together! Our guest play will be Topi Kairenius, the pathfinder of the royal Finnish insect cuisine.
"Why do we do all these? Nothing left in the world to eat and drink wine together with? Of course not. We do it because it is unusual and fun! Those who find it weird, do not worry, good to do something unusual sometimes ;) " Deniz-Topi-Petteri
