The golden era of soul comes to life with the hits from MOTOWN, STAX, ATLANTIC, CHESS, PHILLIES, HI-RECORDS & more. A 20+ piece soul orchestra made up of musicians from Toronto’s BIG SOUND orchestra and some of Vancouver’s top musicians, performing alongside elder Black American expats from the Vancouver music and arts scene.
Featuring; session percussionist extraordinaire, actor and one of the PUSH festivals Sonic Elders Carlos Joe Costa; original front man for the Ohio Players and soul legend Dutch Robinson; bassist, songwriter and Vancouver jazz mainstay Alexander *Atrain* Boynton Jr.; as well as activist, spoken word artist, granddaughter of Vie, of the iconic Vie’s Chicken and Steaks, Adelene da Soul Poet.

OTIB brings you the stories and soundtrack of Black Americans who came to Vancouver in search of the Canadian dream.
