‘Gypsy Scotsman’, that’s how Colin Lillie describes himself. In and around Alice Springs, the gifted songwriter and performer found himself, wrote original songs, performed extensively and created his distinctive sound that reminds of a good bit of Cat Stevens mashed with Nick Cave and Tom Waits.
Colin’s song writing bespeaks a roaring honesty – moreover an emotional honesty which palpably defines his music. Members in the audience .... were visibly impressed,even taken aback, at the power of his voice and the authentic emotional narrative of his songs.
